One per a blog post though you can use related keywords e.g "organic terry nappies" "terry nappies for new borns" etc Especially for Adsense that will give you much better focussed ads. Random highlighting of keywords doesn't work any more either- keep the highlighting to sub headings (which are a good thing BTW)
You just waffle on - say the same thing three different ways - write like you are chatting to a girlfriend! So long as you have the kw in the title, the first sentence, the last paragraph and ocaisaionally in between Google will "get" it !

How many keywords shoudl you go for per blog then? If using blogger, I thought it woudl be OK to use more thna one keyword in the content per blog post, but now I'm starting to wonder if I've got too many words hightlighted/bolded/linked and it's not going to focud the ads on the one keyword i want people buying stuff about. So, I am wondering if i should only go for one keyword per post. I can't work out how to write so much about the one keyword though, how varied can you be in your content writing vocabulary before you start getting irrevelvant ads?

You are quite right Dave - people think search engines are way smarter than they actually are - after they are so stupid that they can't understand anything about a photo or a video unless someone ads the tags or alt text to tell them LOL

Don't exactly know why I missed this post in the past, Lis, but there is some excellent advice here. I have first-hand knowledge that virtually everything you say here works.

Just before I read this, (and distracted myself from the work I was supposed to be doing LoL), I was thinking ... there is a reason folks in the "dead tree" segment of the information industry often have advanced degrees in the field. Before I had a few authority style sites with hundreds or even thousands if articles and pages, I sometime secretly snickered when I saw someone with a degree in Library Science. "What? A whole Masters program dedicated to the Dewey Decimal System?"

Well, as usual, when I put on my sarcasm hat, I was just making windy noises and not much sense. If you iut all the "SEO Advice" in this article (and many others) into a pot and cook them down to their basic components, they all say about the same thing ... organize your information (as a well-managed library does) so that the reader can find what she needs, when she needs it.

The search engines are not 'super-beings', in fact they are far less intelligent than even the most mentally challenged reader ... if a reader can find what is needed, and what they find has a useful function, then the search engines will just "bubble over" with love.
